Kiernan Update

Kiernan's growing like a weed, seemingly learning new words every day. I speak mainly Portuguese to him at home and he knows the phrases/words
-Give it to Mommy (or Daddy).
-Give me a kiss
-Where's the (whatever)?
-More! (as in food)
-Diaper
-Milk
-Water
-Banana (He says "na na na na!" It's so cute)
-Apple
-Close it
-Bye-bye (which means leave for him. He hasn't grasped the idea of saying it to ppl as he leaves)
-Hi! (he smiles, waves, and then says it to nearly every single person we walk by. It makes everyone melt. Even the most grumpy person will say "Hi" back)
-Doggy (he calls most animals doggy at the moment. Even the bee on those Nasonex commercials, haha)
-Cat
-Down down down! (when he wants down)
-Up up up!
-Grandma (which I think actually means the phone)

And his two favorite words of the moment
-No no no!
-Sat! (which can mean anything from "What's that?" to "Give me" to "Help")

I thought he already got into everything possible, but somehow, he's getting into even more stuff. He's also tall enough that the only things out of reach for him still are the top of our piano, the center of the dinner table and our kitchen counters. Of course, I forget this regularly and take things away from him, only to find him playing with them 2 minutes later.

Our house is a constant mess. I really thought I understood Phyllis Diller's famous quip, "Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing is like shoveling the sidewalk before it stops snowing," but I honestly had no idea.

He loves to take the kitchen utensils out of the drawers and bang them on everything he can. He still loves music and will dance to anything that comes on TV, from the Law & Order theme to Put A Ring On It.

He's a total ham and flirt and loves Church b/c of all the attention he gets from everyone. He'll go from lap to lap during Sunday School. He's into testing his limits lately and does things he knows he's not supposed to just to get attention and for us to say "No." He then repeats "No no no!" along with mimicking the gesture we do while we're doing it (shaking our index finger at him).

In short, he's a happy, normal 15-month old :).
